How we screen funds & stocks
We apply two independent screening layers. A fund can be Sharia compliant but still have Israel exposure β or vice versa. We show both results separately so you can make your own informed decision.
Does the fund or stock pass Sharia screening? For funds, we check whether the underlying index applies recognised Sharia methodology (AAOIFI, S&P, FTSE, MSCI). For stocks, we check financial ratios and business activity.
Does the fund structurally exclude Israeli securities? Does the stock have operations, contracts, or significant revenue linked to Israel? This is a separate factual check β independent of Sharia compliance.
We review top holdings for identified links and source 1yr, 3yr, 5yr returns from public data. Performance is shown because it matters for your wealth β not just compliance.
What the badges mean
Confidence levels
- High
- Based on multiple verified sources β corporate filings, index methodology documents, official announcements
- Medium
- Based on credible reporting or single verified source β may require further confirmation
- Low
- Based on limited or indirect evidence β flagged for further research
Limitations
- Holdings change over time β our review reflects a point-in-time assessment
- We screen major holdings by weight, not every position in a fund
- Corporate structures are complex β indirect exposure may not be captured
- Sharia screening methodologies vary between providers (AAOIFI, S&P, FTSE, MSCI)
- This platform does not provide financial advice or religious rulings
Screening is best-effort research based on available information at the time of review. Holdings change over time. Structural exclusion is a factual observation about index methodology β it is not a political endorsement. Absence of a badge is neutral. Always do your own research.
